In the mid 1950s, Ben Black Elk introduced Alfred Vogel to the healing powers of this plant, giving him a handful of Echinacea seedswhen they parted company. Back in Switzerland, Alfred Vogel successfully germinated these seeds, managing to cultivate his first crop of Echinacea plants in the herb gardens of his clinic in Teufen.
